School Advisory Committee (SAC)
SAC Meetings:
School Advisory Committee meetings are held on the third working Tuesday of each month from 5:00–6:00 PM in the Media Center. All DJMS parents, students, staff, and community business partners are welcome and encouraged to attend.
What is the School Advisory Council?
The School Advisory Council (SAC) is a collaborative team made up of parents, teachers, students, administrators, support staff, local business/industry representatives, and other interested community members.
The SAC plays a vital role in shaping the direction of our school by:
- Assisting in the development and evaluation of the School Improvement Plan (SIP)
- Supporting the principal in planning the annual school budget
- Overseeing and allocating specific SAC funds to support projects aligned with the SIP
Use of SAC Funds:
SAC receives funds that are to be used at its discretion, with a portion specifically designated for implementing the School Improvement Plan, which must include measurable performance indicators. These funds are allocated directly to the SAC, cannot be overridden by the principal or school district staff, and may not be used for capital improvements. All expenditures must support programs or projects selected by the SAC.
